Director of Modern Worship
REPORTS TO: Sr. Pastor
COMPENSATION STATUS: Part-Time 15-20 hours per week (Sunday and rehearsal/recording and special events) $15-$18 based on experience
Cassidy Church is a growing community of people committed to being more like Jesus. We are seeking an outstanding modern worship leader who can elevate our modern worship. The Modern Worship Leader is a part-time position responsible for coordinating, managing, and directing the music ministry for our Sunday service. This position requires planning and executing the following components including but not limited to: organize, plan, and direct the modern service band; select worship music in coordination with the theme of each worship service throughout the year, coordinate musicians for the service and rehearsals/recordings. This position is supervised by the pastor.
STAFF RELATIONSHIPS
Consult the pastor on plans and policies. Submit ministry reports to the pastor and monthly report to the pastor.
Accountable directly to the pastor.
BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION
Supervise all paid and volunteer members of the modern service band.
Select and provide suitable music for the modern worship service, coordinating music selections with the pastor to select offerings that are compatible with the theme of the service, and season of the church year.
Conduct weekly band rehearsals, including extra individual mentoring and practices as necessary to provide meaningful, worshipful music which complements the worship service.
Promote, support, and coordinate with directors of other music groups within the church and schedule their regular participation in worship services.
Identify, promote, develop, and utilize the varied musical skills and abilities within the congregation.
Communicate needs and concerns related to the music department to the pastor as needed.
Prepare and oversee the budget of the music department, keeping the pastor informed of the financial status and needs of the music department.
Supervise other music staff members, providing feedback to the pastor, as needed.
Provide proper care for and maintenance of the music program property, including, but not limited to, music equipment, and sheet music.
Coordinate special audio equipment needs with the sound room staff in a timely and informative manner.
Maintain control of church facility keys and ensuring facilities are secured following scheduled and special music program practices sessions at the church.
Present at weekly staff worship meetings (or reading over the meeting notes if not attending in person).

Have proven experience in organizing, planning and directing a church choral program.
This person must be passionate about worshiping Jesus Christ.
This person must feel comfortable addressing small as well as large groups.
PREFERRED
Proficient with piano or guitar, as well as vocals.
Knowledgeable about other instruments, music theory, and music terminology.
Regularly listening to and exploring the CCM - modern worship genre of music to find new songs and to be aware of trends in the field.
Bachelor's degree in music and choral conducting experience is preferred.
